Miracle over the Airwaves!

Sophie had lived with pain, fear, and uncertainty for an exhausting 3 years. She had been diagnosed with uterine cancer, suffering from heavy bleeding and long days confined to bed. All the doctors could do was advise her to seek treatment but this was impossible – the huge costs were far beyond her reach.
From her bed in Kamenge, she listened to Ivyizigiro Radio every day – that means “Hope Radio”! Fanny and her team at World Outreach Initiatives work tirelessly to keep the show on the road, broadcasting hope over the airwaves. Through the daily encouragement of worship songs and messages of faith, Sophie’s strength slowly returned. She found her prayer life deepening, her mustard seed of faith grew, and she believed that healing really could be possible.

Her message to others facing suffering is simple – you can put your trust in God. Whatever the outcome, He is good.
It took some time, but after taking various medical tests, they confirmed what Sophie already felt inside – the cancer was gone! Today, at sixty years old, Sophie is healthy and full of life. She wrote in to the team to share her story – who were thrilled to hear the fruit of the labours.
I’m often asked why we seem to see more miracles in Burundi. My first response is that there are more miracles happening in the West than you may realise (listen to a few episodes of the Inspired Podcast and you’ll see!). But secondly, the predicament of having no medical options left is common. People simply have no other choice.
I’m SO grateful to have access to reliable, medicine, and I make the most of it. But I make sure to remind myself frequently that ultimately, my hope and security is in Jesus, not the trappings of the comfortable West.
Ultimately, every day is a gift! Keep my soul hungry for more of you Lord!
